South Hackensack School District is a community public school district headquartered in South Hackensack, New Jersey, United States, serving students in Kindergarten through eighth grade. The South Hackensack School District serves South Hackensack, and had previously served students from Teterboro, who had attended the district as part of a sending/receiving relationship.[3] Teterboro, a non-operating district was merged into the Hasbrouck Heights School District following its dissolution on July 1, 2010.[4]
Students in public school for grades 9-12 attend Hackensack High School as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Hackensack Public Schools, together with students from Maywood and Rochelle Park.[5]
As of the 2007-08 school year, the district's one school had an enrollment of 209 students and 19.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.0.[1]
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "CD", the sixth highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[6]
